Maximum sustained winds were near 40mph and Igor was drifting north at 2mph. A weak area of low pressure near the Windward Islands has a medium chance of becoming a tropical cyclone during the next 48 hours. Elsewhere, in the North Atlantic, Caribbean Sea or Gulf of Mexico, tropical cyclone formation is not expected during the next 48 hours.
