Well the visitors to San Pedro are arriving in huge numbers and the clock, surprise, surprise is not yet finished and front street is still blocked off to traffic.
We really should put up a sign saying “Geniuses at Work”. All this money spent just to advertise Ramon’s Village it is incredible that this edifice has been constructed and downright dumb to think that it is going to help tourism.

Last night we went to one of our favorite restaurants, and we ordered a bottle of Dom Perignon. The barman retrieved a bottle of the old bubbly from the cooler, and all was going well. Victoria, the owner, was looking very pleased with life and in particular with her new barman. Suddenly all changed and she ashened faced said,”what” as the barman was apparently trying to add cherries to the glasses of champagne.
She had to take a breather and sit with us at our table and take multiple deep breaths. However all was well as no cherries had been added, and the food was simply delicious.
The Benedictine Monks would have turned over in their graves.

Well the cold front is still here and Lady Boss has got her woolies on. The weather looks set for today and it should improve tomorrow.
Yesterday was terrible as it rained when we went out to supper, and the bosses got very wet driving on their golf car.

Yet again complaints have been sent to the Ambergris Daily about taxi drivers overcharging.
We call on the various associations to regulate their drivers, and make sure that their taxies are clean and that the correct prices are charged.
One example was that a customer wanted a r/t ride to the greenhouse from Pedr0′s Hotel and was charged 20bzd and he ended up going to the bridge, and on the return trip to San Pedrito. This is ludicrous if you take a cab the drivers do not have the right to take other fares without the permission of the original customer. This 10 min trip took 40 minutes, and the taxi driver was very belligerent.

It is a cold morning as the clouds are everywhere. They should break up later in the day, and the sun should be out after noon.
We are all going to Aji tonight to drink champagne and eat to our hearts content.

The clouds are back and both Jambo and I suspect we will get a little rain in the afternoon. The sea is fairly rough.
We will be off for our normal run and then be ready for our pizza treats but I fear that Jambo may miss out as he has put on an extra 10lb and Lady Boss is not really very happy with him. I,of course have kept my usual svelte like figure.

In memory of Peter’s mother my family has donated 500 Belize dollars to the San Pedro Animal Foundation.
Sarah was an avid animal-lover her entire life. It was said that I was the only girlfriend of Peter’s she ever liked because I am a vet. Of all of Peter’s accomplishments, it seemed that the one she was happiest about was the San Pedro Animal Hospital. After it was built she made her first ever visit to Belize. As you can see from the above photo, she greatly enjoyed her time in San Pedro.
We are discussing what would be the best project to undertake in her memory. We would like to do something other than spay and neuter for a change. Something to increase the quality of life for our canine companions of lesser means, who perhaps do not spend their days riding around in golf carts. If anyone has any suggestions, please let us know.
Obviously Peter inherited his love of dogs and cats from his mother. In more ways than one, the San Pedro Animal Hospital and the San Pedro Animal Foundation owe their existence to Sarah Lawrence.
We miss you, Sarah.
