Caribbean Travel & Life Explores Inland And Offshore Belize

Deputy Editor of Caribbean Travel & Life, Matt Phenix and Photograhper, Zach Stoval are currently in Belize from February 20th – February 27th traversing both inland and offshore Belize. The readers of Caribbean Travel & Life are among the most frequent visitors to the Caribbean and travel to the region on average 1.3 times per year.

Caribbean Travel & Life attracts an upscale audience interested in vacationing in the Caribbean. Contents include shopping, dining and lodging ideas, covering the arts and entertainment in the area, and offer suggestions on sights and locations to visit. Caribbean Travel & Life Magazine is a consumer magazine that covers dozens of diverse countries, colonies and cultures and thousands of resorts, restaurants, beaches and attractions. Its main focus is the Caribbean and the magazine has a circulation of over 150,000.

Their visit in Belize takes them to Orange Walk District where they will explore the mysterious jungle-shrouded temple of Lamanai and by airboat in the surrounding floodplains had an opportunity to observe the Morelet’s crocodile.

The pair will also travel to beautiful Hopkins and Placencia Villages where they will have the opportunity to enjoy local cuisine and then visit the enormous Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary, which protects the world’s largest concentration of wildcats. The final leg of their itinerary will take them to Punta Gorda, visiting the ancient Maya city of Lubaantun, stepping in thousands of years of Maya tradition and Sapodilla Cayes where they will snorkel on the southern tip of the Belize Barrier Reef, with its wonderful coral formations and warm waters teeming with marine life.

Caribbean Travel & Life’s last visit to Belize yielded multiple stories for an advertising value of over USD$50,000 for each placement. The most recent story about Ambergris Caye which ran in the publication’s December issue was a nine page story, and had an advertising value of almost USD$200,000.

Participating private sector partners who assisted in making this trip a success included Lamanai Outpost Lodge, Almond Beach & Jaguar Reef Resort, Blancaneaux Turtle Inn, Machaca Hill Lodge, Garbutt’s Marine, S&L Travel and Tours, Radisson Fort George Hotel & Marina and the Great House.
