Ladies Take Over Poker Tournament Thursday on Ambergris Caye

The first ever Tournament Thursday was a raging success at Pedro’s Poker Club and it was the ladies of Ladies Poker Night that ran over the game.

The night started with a $30 No Limit Hold’em satellite tournament that paid two winners.  These two lucky winners would receive free tournament entries into the rest of the games that evening.  It was a hard fought three way bubble battle between Jason Southwell and Ladies Night regulars, Ruth Rinehart and Allie Leslie, but it was the ladies that would prevail and win the $120 worth of tournament entries each.

Immediately following began a $55 No Limit Hold’em tournament featuring 12 excellent players that when whittled down to 1 found another Ladies Night regular Ti Southwell the victor with a prize of $250.  This was her first tournament win and the island had better watch out because it will not be her last.

The final tournament of the night was again a $55 No Limit Hold’em tournament where new club member and island guest Rob Rohrer took home 1st place money and Ladies Night regular Ti Southwell pulling a repeat cash performance in the runner up slot.

Allie Leslie had the last laugh though when it was announced that she knocked out more players than anyone else.  As part of a special promotion for the evening, the person who knocked out the most players in all three tournaments was awarded a $100 bar tab at Pedro’s Inn.

It is quite obvious that Ladies Poker Nights at Pedro’s is where you must go to learn serious poker skills.  Ladies night is usually held the second Tuesday of every month, but due to the next event coinciding with a certain holiday, it will instead be held on February 7th.  Given the success of the ladies this evening, it will be tempting for a few guys to try to sneak in dressed in skirts and high heels, but rest assured that Ladies Night is all about female friends, fun and of course the free booze and food.

The next regular game day at Pedro’s is Sunday, the 22nd of January.  There will be a $30 bz satellite at 2pm followed by a $110 bz tournament at 3pm and a 1/2 us cash game at 5:30.  Guys and girls are both welcome and as usual Pedro buys the food and drink for the cash game.
