Confusion on The Town Clock in San Pedro

Regarding the the Ambergris Daily’s proposed solution to the clock tower quagmire, where as I agree that it IS an accident waiting to happen, I am somewhat perplexed by your proposed solution.  Walking to the beautiful tower from Fido’s, it first appeared that surely it would be better to open the open the barrier on the right and CLOSE the one on the left, exactly the opposite of what the Ambergris Daily proposed!  Confused, I contemplated this for a bit, took a stroll by Estels, then cut through the park to again review the situation.  This time however, it appeared to make MORE sense to close the barrier that was in FRONT of me, and open the one on the furthest side of the clock???  What???  My head spinning, more confused than ever, I retreated to the beach and wandered over to Wahoo’s.  After a brief respite there, I cut through the Spindrift, grabbed a hot dog, then walked back towards the clock.  THIS time it SURELY seemed to make sense (as suggested by the Ambergris Daily) to indeed, close the barrier on the right side and open the one on the left one.  Whew!!!  Now somewhat convinced the Ambergris Daily’s proposal would work, I set out to runs  few quick errands in town, picked up a few things at Super Buy and what not.  When I finished, I was cutting back up to Front Street and low and behold!!!  There were a number of carts struggling to get past the clock as pedestrians were walking along the street at the same time!!!    in surveying the scene, however, it brought to question whether the best possible solution would be to open the barrier directly in front of me and close the one on the FURTHEST side????!!!

As you can see, this is not as simple of a situation as the Ambergris Daily makes it out to be!!!

Perhaps the SPTB and Mayor needs to look outside of local expertise and hire say professional consultants???  This problem is surely out of the scope of what our community can solve.
