“Possible Fraud / Abysmal Customer Service”

My friend and I booked the adjacent Sands Villas Hotel last week ($400 / night) off Upon arrival, the place was a still under construction! We were directed by the staff to the Belize Yacht Club, who oddly had our reservation printed out and ready.

We quickly realized we were in an awful place. Despite having our reservation, the reception indicated there was a problem; there wasn’t a room for us! This was the day before New Years Eve and the entire island was booked!

The manager, an incredibly rude blonde woman, then coldly greeted us. She offered no apologies nor sympathy, rather she told (not asked) us to sit down, then disappeared for 20 minutes without explanation.

While she was away, a couple walked into the lobby and started complaining that they too had booked at a different hotel, for a substantial amount of money, and were appalled at the room they were now staying in at Belize Yacht Club for the same rate! We all compared notes…

When the manager returned, the four of us confronted her. She immediately became agitated, started making accusations, told everyone there was absolutely nothing she would do, then threatened to call the police!

One of the most awful ways to start a holiday. STAY AWAY!!!!

Room Tip: Don’t book here, plenty of good rooms at other hotels.

It is unfortunate that some guests are never happy no matter where they are. It is fortunate that the majority of our guests bring their happiness year after year.
