A trip to Flores and Rio Dulce
How simple it is to just call Tropic Airlines book 2 seats on the the 8.45 am flight from Belize International Airport to Flores which is situated 4o miles or so from Tikal. The plane ride is just under an hour and provides great views for the passengers.
Arriving at Immigration is a breeze. First you are welcomed to Guatamala and then your pre written paperwork is checked and then passports stamped. Then to customs who hand you a welcome brochure and again welcome you to Guatamala, and waive you through their checkpoint.
Outside the airport a solitary cab waits and an agreement to drive 3.5 hours to the river Dulce and a fare of 90 usd seemed equitable to both parties. Driving along nicely paved roads looking at all the farms,and noticing absolutely no trash on the roadside.
