Update: Ambergris Daily has just received word that the grand total raised is actually over $13,000 Bz, not $11,000 as was previously reported. Well done all!
Pedro’s Hotel hosted a fundraiser yesterday (Sunday, December 6th) to benefit the boys and girls of the Liberty Children’s Home in Ladyville, Belize. 50% of all proceeds of the day were donated to the orphanage for gifts and a Christmas dinner.
The fundraiser featured a delicious chicken barbeque by Walter ‘Holy Moly’ Media, raffles, a silent auction and live music by Doug and the Castaways. The Island Academy organized a Jump-O-Thon jump rope contest which raised more than $2,000 for the cause. All told, the event raised over $11,000 Bz which will go towards Christmas gifts for all 40 of the Liberty Kids, a full Christmas dinner and other educational needs of Liberty Home.
